“Get on the Bus”

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

I hope everyone can follow me and my teammates on www.nikesoccer.com.  Nike has put tons of time and effort into making the world aware of our new team.  Their slogan is, “The Greatest Team you have Never Heard of.”  It is very true because since Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, Joy Fawcett and Chastain retired, there aren’t a lot of names that people recognize.  But, the last two years we have not lost a game and we are excited to show the world what we are all about!

The Nikesoccer website will allow you to “get on our bus.”  In other words you can follow what we are doing and how we are preparing for the World Cup.  I am going to be taking pictures and videos that will be displayed on the website.  You might even get a few clips of me dancing in the locker room!  I am pretty good…ha ha.  Just kidding, but I have gotten better! :)

See you on the bus!!!

Lindsay Tarpley Gold Medal Soccer Camp

Thursday, July 12th, 2007
Thank you to everyone who made the Lindsay Tarpley Gold Medal Soccer Camp so successful!  I had a wonderful time being back in Kalamazoo and being able to share my knowledge with budding soccer stars from the area.  It was exciting to see some faces from last year and see the improvement they had made as well as new eager faces.  I always love sharing new ideas and skills that I feel fortunate to have learned through my valuable experiences!  I made sure the campers walked away with not only a new dri-fit shirt, soccer ball, signed picture and prizes, but also skills, knowledge and passion for the game.  I was happy to be able to have a three day camp with three different sessions to maximize my interaction with every camper.  Thank you to everyone who made it so fun and special.

As my campers learned at the camp, my teammates and I are preparing for a World Cup that is going to take place in September in China.  It is a very exciting time for us and we are working extremely hard!  We have four more send off games before we take off for China.  Most of them are going to be televised so please watch them and support us!

Good luck this summer!

Summer Time

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

This summer has been incredibly busy for me!  I have been on the road for the past 4 weeks so you can imagine how much luggage I have been hauling around with me!  ha ha.

Things have been going very well.  We started our send off series in Cleveland, Ohio!  It is always fun to get back to the Midwest especially in the muggy summer.  We were there during the Cavs vs. Spurs series for the NBA championship so it was a great atmosphere.  We played China in the Cleveland Browns Stadium and we won 2-0.

From Cleveland, we flew to New Jersey to train for a few days before moving into New York City.  We stayed right in Time Square.  It was interesting traveling in a charter bus trying to get through the city.  It was not fun for those of us who get bus sick when the bus…stops, goes, stops, goes! But, it was a lot of fun staying in the heart of the city. We played Brazil at Giants Stadium and we won 2-0.  We launched our new Gold uniforms so it was a very exciting time for our team.

While I was staying in the city, NikeTown- New York covered the outside windows of their store with a picture of me and my teammates.  It was incredible to see pictures on NikeTown! It was a dream come true for me to see giant pictures while walking down 5th Avenue.  Pretty cool!

After New York, I flew to Kalamazoo for my camp.  As always, I really enjoyed the camp.  Thank you to everyone who made it such a success.  I also got a lot of wedding stuff done while I was in town.  My favorite part of the wedding activities was going cake tasting in the morning….I was on a sugar high the entire day!

I am enjoying a little break during the 4th of July.  I am spending time with my family which I always enjoy.  I am heading to Hartford, Connecticut in a few days for our game against Norway.

Thank you for your continued support!

Happy 4th of July and I will keep you updated!
